About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join their team at their program in VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to create long-term impacts on consumers' lives and enjoy encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. This role involves spending days in various settings, making memories with individuals, and following the Individual Support Plan. Responsibilities include working on social and communication skills, enhancing independence by assisting with daily hygiene and personal care, and teaching daily living activities such as housekeeping and laundry.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to operate a vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• 1+ year experience in a home health aide setting or school setting working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
