Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Merakey is seeking a mission-driven, compassionate, and reliable Direct Support Professional to work in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role involves helping people build independence, develop social and communication skills, and navigate daily living activities. No experience is required; paid training is provided. The position offers shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on a rotating weekly schedule: Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday through Friday one week, then Monday through Thursday and Saturday the following week. Pay is up to $18 per hour with election of the Enhanced Pay option.
Requirements
- Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
- Current and valid driver's license.
- Must be at least 18 years old.

- Related experience is helpful, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living.
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
- Support development of life skills, including household tasks and social skills.
- Provide community support and transportation.
- Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support as trained.
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
- Help individuals develop independence and social and communication skills, and pursue personal goals.
- Serve as a mentor, coach, and advocate.
