About The Position

AHRC New York City is holding a HIRING EVENT for Full-Time and Per-Diem Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their STATEN ISLAND Group home residences. The role involves supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead full and equitable lives. This includes promoting skill development, assisting with daily living skills, and ensuring safety and health considerations.

Requirements

• Personal or Professional experience supporting People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) preferred.
• Professionalism; integrity; excellent communication skills.
• Patience is a MUST!
• Willingness to support people's preferences for community, activities, work, leisure activities, the exercise of their rights etc. in various settings.
• Ability to use a computer for data entry.
• High school education/GED, highly preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Drivers License Required for Full-Time positions.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of all safety and health considerations
• Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies
• Assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs)
• Cooking, cleaning, hygiene, etc.
