About The Position
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for a variety of duties related to providing support and care for individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. facilities, who have needs in the area of physical/medical care, behavioral support, cognitive support and independent living. The Direct Support Professional provides care according to the specific needs of the individuals. This includes but is not limited assistance and education with personal care, medication administration and independent living skills. Direct Support Professionals also help to transport/accompany individuals to activities in the community and to local or out of town appointments.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited school
- Criminal Record Check
- Prompt and regular attendance for assigned work schedule
- Ability to work during inclement weather and some holidays
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Course work for CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management
- Basic computer skills for e-mail, electronic training modules and recording data
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to perform balancing, bending, stooping and kneeling
- Ability to be on feet most of the time
