DIRECT SUPPORT PROF
About The Position
Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join their team at their program in Philadelphia, PA. This role involves creating long-term impacts on consumers' lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. The position involves spending days in various settings, making memories with individuals, and following an Individual Support Plan. Daily activities may include visiting parks and sensory gardens, working on social and communication skills, assisting with daily hygiene and personal care, and teaching daily living activities such as housekeeping and laundry to enhance independence.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
Nice To Haves
- Verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
- Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals.
- Following the Individual Support Plan.

- Teaching individuals to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry.
