About The Position

Reporting to the Direct Care Supervisor and Waiver Services Director, the Direct Support Professional participates in a team approach to provide Community Based Services through the Arkansas Division of Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS) Waiver program. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 4–8 p.m.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid state license or ID.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
• Should exhibit patience, kindness, and understanding.
• Adhere to Myers-Davis’ mission, vision, and philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit compassion, support consumers, and ensure a safe environment.
• Foster independence in individuals.
• Help individuals acquire skills, including social behavior and interpersonal competence.
• Provide person-centered care to all individuals supported.
• Assist with community outings, personal hygiene, mobility exercises, and meal preparation.
• Provide verbal prompting for communication needs and in-home safety practices.
