About The Position

We have a variety of full and part-time jobs available and are looking for candidates who are eager to learn. Our Direct Support Professionals provide daily support to individuals with developmental disabilities within the home setting. Working with a team, DSPs assist with daily living skills, personalized goals, arts and crafts, games, sensory activities, and accompany on outings in the community. Arc GLOW is a parent and family driven organization that empowers and supports people of all ages with a broad spectrum of emotional, intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our Day Habilitation locations cover the four counties in the GLOW region, providing supports and services to over 150 people.
Requirements
- A valid NYS driver's license with an acceptable driving record, per agency policy, and reliable transportation to and from work is required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The physical ability to transfer and lift people with mobility restraints.
- The drive to help others with personal goals and work in a team environment.
- The ability to efficiently use a computer.
Responsibilities
- Provides daily care to the people we support with developmental, intellectual and/or physical disabilities.
- Assists and encourages the people we support to care for immediate personal needs.
- Assists with planning daily activities and participates in the activities in small groups.
- Assists in varies community inclusion opportunities such as social events, volunteering, and to providing ways to work on skill building.
- Documents all program data accurately and timely.
- Provide transportation as needed with agency vehicles.
- Use various software platforms for specific job functions.
- Meal preparation.
