About The Position

The nature of the job of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is to provide 1:1 care to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities at home and in the community. This is a part-time position, averaging 10-15 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Trained on the Indiana Home and Community Support Professional standards.
  • Additional training as needed on Behavior Support Plans, Risk Plans, or Medication Administration.
  • Trained on and expected to complete Incident Reporting as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 care to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities at home and in the community.
  • Assist individuals supported with self-care, self-direction, expressive or receptive language, ambulation or mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), learning, independent living, economic self-sufficiency, physical activity, or community participation.
  • Document work records via AccelTrax with mandatory clocking in and out using Electronic Visit Verification if applicable.
  • Document work records including a narrative note for each shift with what was done to assist the individual, the individual's whereabouts, and the duration of the activities.
  • Document progress notes including an option to select goals worked on.
  • Complete Incident Reporting as needed.
