Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to create long-term impacts on individuals' lives and enjoy encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. This role involves fostering pride in individuals by teaching them daily living activities such as housekeeping and laundry. Work is performed under the supervision of the House Manager, with evaluations based on observation of activities, residents' responsiveness, living area inspection, reports, and periodic meetings. The DSP will enhance independence by assisting with daily and personal activities.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- 1 year experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
Nice To Haves
- Dual Diagnosis experience is preferred.
- NADD DSP Certification training within first year of employment.
Responsibilities
