About The Position

As a part-time Direct Support Professional, you will acquire hands-on job skills, as well as knowledge of issues, social needs, public policy areas, and information about people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This role is part of the Achieve Program, which emphasizes building work readiness skills while promoting independence and community integration through recreational outings and volunteer training opportunities. You will assist individuals during day programs in accordance with their established treatment plans and abide by the Direct Support Professional Code of Ethics at all times.

  • Must maintain all required certifications.
  • Must be punctual and maintain regular attendance.
  • Must uphold the standards set by the NADSP Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Complete required QSAC orientation.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of individuals.
  • Uphold the standards set by the NADSP Code of Ethics.
  • Be punctual and maintain regular attendance.
  • Safeguard and respect the confidentiality of the individuals and their families.
  • Assist individuals in developing and maintaining relationships.
  • Help individuals build work readiness skills, such as computer literacy, professional behavior, and communication skills.
  • Promote and protect the health, safety, and emotional well-being of the individuals.
  • Commit to person-centered supports and honor the personality, preferences, culture, and strengths of the individuals.
  • Work in partnership with others to support all individuals in leading self-directed lives.
  • Commit to company values and adhere to policies.
  • Implement and adhere to established treatment plans.
  • Ensure that people exercise their rights and that rights are not unnecessarily restricted.
  • Ensure people are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Participate in annual and required evaluation processes.
  • Maintain all required certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management.
