About The Position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Community Participation Supports, you will assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building independence, confidence, and meaningful connections. This role involves supporting individuals in making choices, learning new skills, and participating in enriching activities both on-site and within the community.

Requirements

• 18 years of age
• A valid driver’s license and 6 months driving experience
• Access to a vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection
• Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand the English language

Nice To Haves

• Previous Personal Care Aide, Caregiver, Direct Support Professional (DSP), or Direct Care Worker experience
• Knowledge of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism

Responsibilities

• Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and everyday decision-making
• Provide support with daily living skills, personal care, and hygiene
• Build strong relationships through thoughtful, effective communication
• Follow individualized support plans and document progress
• Assist with adaptive equipment, therapies, and skill-building activities
• Help plan and participate in social, recreational, and community experiences
• Collaborate with team members, families, and supervisors to ensure a safe, supportive environment
