About The Position

This is a part-time position responsible for many duties of the Employment and Community First (ECF) Department. The role involves supporting individuals in meeting their personal outcomes, assisting with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, and promoting community integration. Responsibilities include personal hygiene assistance, domestic duties such as laundry and meal preparation, maintaining living spaces, and ensuring equipment is in good working order. The position also requires safe transportation of individuals, adherence to agency policies and procedures, and accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • Standard high school diploma or GED is required.
  • An acceptable three-year Motor Vehicle Report is required.
  • Social Security Card is required.
  • Driver's license with F endorsement (if not a Georgia or Alabama license).
  • Must possess a dependable vehicle and maintain liability automobile insurance.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to read and write the English language.
  • On-going background checks and random drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Successful completion of the required physical examination by an approved Orange Grove physician.
  • Must be found to be in good physical health.
  • Must maintain a flexible schedule.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Must assist with peer training, mentoring, and work as a cooperative team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with persons with ID/DD preferred.
  • Understanding of the importance of person-centered employment and community activities that promote independence.
  • Excellent people skills and problem-solving techniques required.
  • Capable of working within the guidelines of the Bureau of TennCare, the Area on Aging and Disabilities, Managed Care Organizations, and all other applicable governing and/or funding sources.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals in meeting their personal outcomes and monitor/record data on personal outcomes.
  • Provide appropriate levels of support based on individual support plans or health status.
  • Assist individuals in choice making, work, social, and leisure activities.
  • Support community integration and family relationships.
  • Remain on shift until the relief person arrives.
  • Report any health and safety concerns of individuals.
  • Ensure the safety of all individuals during emergency events and follow emergency procedures accurately.
  • Administer medications accurately and in accordance with agency policy.
  • Assist with bathing, hair care, dental hygiene, shaving, dressing, and toileting.
  • Utilize mechanical lifts according to individual program plans.
  • Complete all required documentation per shift.
  • Perform domestic duties including laundry, kitchen tasks (meal prep, cleaning), bedroom and bathroom maintenance.
  • Maintain community, work, and classroom areas, including disinfecting common surfaces.
  • Maintain equipment such as wheelchairs, mechanical lifts, and filters.
  • Purchase fuel for vehicles, safely secure passengers, and operate vehicle lifts.
  • Support individuals in arranging transportation for appointments and events.
  • Drive safely and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
  • Complete daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Adhere to Orange Grove Center Policies and Procedures, including mission statement, attendance, behavior management, and emergency procedures.
  • Complete required training, including orientation, person-centered training, crisis prevention, First Aid & CPR, and defensive driving.
  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner, including incident reports, timesheets, and daily notes.
