Advocates is seeking a creative and compassionate Direct Support Professional (Mentor/1:1 support staff) to work with a gifted young man with a developmental disability. In this role, you will assist him with his activities of daily living and getting ready for program in the morning. The mentor will also help him to learn independent living skills and teach him skills to communicate and interact with others. The ideal candidate has some type of PCA, CNA, or nursing background, for periodic non-medical personal care needs, is reliable, will have effective communication and leadership skills, patience, and can be flexible. Experience working with people with disabilities is a plus. Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.
