Asleep Overnight Direct Support Professional - $350 Bonus
About The Position
This is a crisis group home which is a short-term, highly supportive residential setting designed for children, teens, or adults who are experiencing an emotional, behavioral, or other crisis. The goal is stabilization — not long-term placement — so the person can return home or move to a more appropriate setting once the individual has stabilized and a plan is in place. The individuals we support in this setting are often highly behavioral, may be violent at times, display verbal aggression, and may elope. It is imperative that employees following our training, policies, and care plans to support individuals with these unique needs. Direct Support Professionals provide support and supervision to individuals who have developmental, mental health, or physical disabilities.
Requirements
- Be 18 years or older.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Have access to an insured vehicle.
- Have a clean driving record.
- Need to pass a DHS background study.
- Exhibit basic computer skills to be successful in this position.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma preferred.
- One year of experience delivering services to individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Helps to establish and keep community relationships and friendships.
- Assists individuals with daily routines including, but not limited to, household tasks, cooking and eating, individual self-care, socializing, use of leisure time, health and safety, money management and behavior management.
- Administers medications.
- Provides transportation.
- Documents services and events through an online computer program.
