About The Position
Mains'l is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for a rewarding position in Oroville. The DSP will provide support and services to adults with mental health concerns and developmental limitations in their homes and communities, helping them live meaningful and fulfilled lives based on their goals and aspirations. This role involves supporting individuals with medication, maintaining a safe living environment, assisting with personal care, cooking, cleaning, attending community events, and supporting hobbies and interests. The DSP will also have the opportunity to attend events like movies or restaurant outings, and will play a crucial role in advocating for the needs of those who may not have a voice.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI check if applicable.
- Safe and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and auto insurance, if applicable.
- Ability to pass a driving record check, if applicable.
- TB (Tuberculosis) Skin Test.
- Physical, if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and services to people with mental health concerns and developmental limitations in their homes and communities.
- Assist individuals with medication, maintaining a safe living environment, and personal care (dressing, showering, toileting).
- Support individuals with cooking, cleaning, and attending community events.
- Assist with hobbies and interests, and attend events such as movies, birthday parties, or restaurant outings based on individual interests.
- Teach skills and abilities through coaching and role modeling, card games, music, and trying new adventures.
- Act as a voice to advocate for the needs of individuals.
- Collaborate with the person supported and co-workers to problem-solve and create a positive and inclusive culture.
- Document the day-to-day activities of the person(s) supported clearly and accurately.
- Aid or support activities of daily living in the person’s home and their community based on their needs and preferences.
- Support others to realize their hopes and dreams through community events or activities.
