Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join their team at their program in Slippery Rock, PA. This role involves creating long-term impacts on individuals' lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. DSPs will work in various settings, making memories with individuals by following their Individual Support Plan. This includes activities like going to the park, working on social and communication skills, teaching daily living activities such as personal care, housekeeping, and laundry, and fostering independence and pride in the individuals served.
Requirements
- A verifiable high school diploma or GED is required.
- A current and valid driver's license is required.
- Age 18 or older.

- Related experience is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals.
- Following the Individuals Support Plan.
- Engaging individuals in activities such as park visits and working on social and communication skills.
- Teaching daily living activities including personal care, housekeeping, and laundry.
- Assisting individuals with daily and personal activities to enhance their independence.
