About The Position

Hands of Heartland is seeking compassionate and caring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in North Platte, Nebraska. DSPs work directly with people with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings, supporting them to have a meaningful life. The role includes assisting with daily living activities and helping individuals develop skills at home and in community settings. Training is provided; prior experience is not required. Full-time and part-time hours are available, including evening and overnight shifts. All shifts require working every other weekend.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be able to pass all background checks.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to change.
Strong communication skills and understanding of the importance of documentation.
Desire to support people and encourage them to reach their goals.
Empathy, patience, understanding, compassion, adaptability, respectfulness, dependability, and sound judgment.

Nice To Haves

Current CNA certification and relevant experience may qualify for competitive compensation.
Active CNAs are eligible to receive CEUs toward maintaining their license while working as a DSP.
