This role involves providing companionship and support to six individuals, assisting them with activities such as playing games, arts and crafts, writing, and conversation. The position also includes supporting community outings like trips to the zoo, concerts, museums, and the beach, as well as neighborhood walks. Responsibilities extend to personal care, including assistance with bathroom needs, bathing, and dressing, as well as meal support. The role also entails helping individuals maintain a clean home environment, assisting with daily chores like laundry, dishes, organizing bedrooms, and decorating. Challenges may include supporting individuals with anxiety, managing overstimulation that can lead to noise, and assisting an individual with progressing Dementia. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing plans, such as canceled outings, are essential. The work environment can be fast-paced or slow and peaceful, with constant opportunities to engage individuals in their interests or assist with household tasks. Building unique connections with each individual and recognizing their strengths is a key aspect of the role. The position offers a minimum of three days of training per individual, with additional training provided as needed. The salary is $20.50/hr with shift differentials offered.
