About The Position

Venture Community Services seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to advocate for and support adults aged 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities, empowering them to be as active as possible in their own lives. Support may include household maintenance, meal preparation, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, and teeth brushing. The DSP may also assist with medical appointments and banking, support community participation and outings, administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans and Individual Support Plans and goals, and follow established medical guidelines. DSPs receive paid New Employee Orientation, CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP) training, along with program-specific and individual-specific training in the person's home. The DSP must be able to safely evacuate individuals from the home during an emergency. Employees must maintain certifications and perform job duties in accordance with agency policies and DDS regulations and policies. This is a part-time, 22-hour-per-week position. The listed schedule is Friday 2 p.m.–10 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m.–4 p.m., and Saturday 4 p.m.–10 p.m. The pay rate is $17.50–$19.00 per hour. A sign-on bonus is listed as $500 for part-time employees and $1,000 for full-time employees.

Must be at least 21 years old.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
High school diploma or GED.
Experience working in a residential setting with highly behavioral individuals.
Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English.
Ability to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the essential job functions.
