About The Position
AHRC New York City is holding a HIRING EVENT with ON THE SPOT JOB OFFERS! for Part-Time Day Program Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for Queens Adult Day Program. This is a per-diem position with a pay rate of $20 per hour and no benefits. The schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, totaling 30 hours per week. Requirements
- Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
- Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.
- Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
- Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
Nice To Haves
- Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Drivers License for more than one year in good standing preferred
Responsibilities
- Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills, daily living skills and habits.
- Accompany participants to appointments, community outings, and other activities.
- Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.
