About The Position

The purpose of the Adult Day Services Assistant is to support the daily operation of an adult day services program by providing structured activities, supervision, social engagement, and a safe, welcoming environment for all participants.

Requirements

  • Physical ability to assist clients and use assistive devices.
  • Provide personal care for individuals with disabilities.
  • Successful completion of a Caregiver Background Check.
  • Positive attitude and ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with Ventures staff, clients, Managed Care Organization staff, visitors, and members of the public.
  • Strong communication and instructional skills.

  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and ability to pass a DMV record check.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in Human Services, Occupational Therapy, or Personal Care.
  • One year of experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Willingness to learn American Sign Language.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and supervise group activities, including arts and crafts, music, games, exercise, health and wellness, educational discussions, and community activities.
  • Encourage participants to engage in activities that promote social awareness, participation, and skill development.
  • Support the daily schedule and assist participants with smooth transitions between activities.
  • Provide respectful, person-centered support to participants and collaborate with each individual to help them achieve their personal goals.
  • Develop and implement support programs tailored to adults with disabilities.
  • Provide individualized assistance and personal care as needed, including feeding, toileting, and other activities of daily living.
  • Monitor and address participant health needs, dietary requirements, and overall well-being.
  • Maintain accurate documentation by providing detailed case notes to the Program Manager.
  • Monitor and document participant attendance, participation levels, and behavioral observations.
  • Complete incident reports when necessary to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program environment.
  • Provide consistent supervision to ensure safety and well-being.
