About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join their team in Philadelphia, PA. This role involves creating long-term impacts on consumers' lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. The position involves working in various settings, following Individual Support Plans, and assisting individuals with social and communication skills, daily hygiene, personal care, housekeeping, and laundry to enhance their independence and foster pride.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma/G.E.D. preferred
• Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Dual Diagnosis experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals.
• Working in a variety of settings to make memories with individuals.
• Following the Individual Support Plan.
• Working on social and communication skills.
• Enhancing independence by assisting with daily hygiene and personal care.
• Teaching individuals to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry.
