About The Position
The Arc of Opportunity is looking for Direct Support Professionals to join their mission of improving the lives of individuals with Developmental Disabilities for over 60 years. This role involves enriching the lives of individuals and supporting them to reach their fullest potential.
Requirements
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Active and valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass background checks
- Ability to lift to 50lbs and sustained periods of sitting or standing
- Ability to assist in a restraint if needed
Nice To Haves
- Experience in substance abuse or mental health preferred
Responsibilities
- Actively Advocate for individuals served demonstrating the Agency’s values and mission in all interactions
- Leveraging your knowledge and interests in the community to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life
- Implement Individual Service Plans
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily living, including household tasks and chores
- Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the Agency’s van
- Present in a respectful and professional manner in all interaction
- Attend all trainings and implement knowledge throughout your work
- Communicate in an effective manner whether orally or written
