About The Position

Merakey is seeking Support Counselors to join their team in Philadelphia, PA. This role involves creating long-term impacts on individuals' lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. The position involves working in various settings, following Individual Support Plans to work on social and communication skills, assisting with daily hygiene and personal care, and teaching daily living activities like housekeeping and laundry to enhance independence. No experience is required as paid training is provided. Earn up to $18.25/hour with the Enhanced Pay option.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma/G.E.D. preferred
• Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
• Dual Diagnosis experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals.
• Working in a variety of settings making memories with individuals.
• Following the Individual Support Plan to work on social and communication skills.
• Enhancing independence by assisting with daily hygiene and personal care.
• Teaching individuals to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry.
