About The Position
Under the supervision of the Residence Manager, you will provide essential direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Your mission will be to foster a safe, normalized, and therapeutic home environment built on encouragement, positive interaction, and unconditional respect for resident rights.
Requirements
- Must be past their initial employment probationary period.
- Must have a clean record with no disciplinary actions on file for the past 12 months.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift daily.
- Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily personal tasks, including bathing, dressing, and teaching vital self-care skills.
- Implement behavioral plans and actively encourage resident engagement within their communities and social networks.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming home environment by handling housekeeping tasks (vacuuming, dishes, tidying) and grocery shopping.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to specific client dietary needs.
- Help plan client appointments, organize schedules, and coordinate transportation arrangements.
- Accurately document daily notes and service provisions while adhering to the organization’s Code of Ethics, mission, vision, and values.
