We are looking for a Direct Support Professional to play a key role in furthering our vision and mission in our day services department.

Requirements

  • GED or high school diploma preferred.
  • Vocational training or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience working with I/DD persons preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must have a telephone and maintain it in operating order within telephone company's maintenance capabilities.
  • Must pass/complete background check.
  • Must be licensed driver and be insurable.
  • Must be capable of maintaining Mandt and CPR certification including physical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clients with an on-site trainer who will observe, instruct and supervise per their needs.
  • Ensure accessibility is maintained at all times.
  • Work with individuals who have disabilities and or barriers to employment and participate in the achievement of their goals.
  • Demonstrate positive, appropriate work behaviors in order to serve as a positive role model.
  • Display commitment and involvement towards Goodwill's mission.
  • Coach persons served to improve their productivity and their work habits.
  • Adapt daily to client preference and choice, business and industry needs and client goals and objectives.
  • Assist with smooth transition of clients into competitive employment utilizing life skills/ job readiness training.
  • Serve as PCSP team member.
  • Record daily client productivity, track attendance, write case notes.
  • Maintain ISO Compliance/certification.
  • Maintain CARF Compliance.
  • Maintain HCBS Final Rule compliance.
  • Work with clients seeking to improve their productivity and their work habits.
  • Function as job coach of clients in all contract areas.
  • Assist with establishing client objectives and communicate changes to the Day Services Manager.
  • Participate in PCSP process as a team member.
  • Enter daily case notes, fill in log sheets for each client and track client attendance.
  • Track client productivity.
  • Attend meetings and training as assigned by the Day Services Manager.
  • Function to assure accessibility in all work areas.
  • Ensure that reasonable accommodations are provided at all times.
  • Responsible for the health, welfare, and safety of all clients assigned.
  • Keep the area neat and clean.
  • Track client progress.
  • Develop necessary reports and communicate with Day Services Manager.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and report violations.
  • Adhere to all ethical standards and confidentiality of records.
  • Support mission statement and activities of other departments.
  • Support the accessibility of our services and facilities free of architectural, attitudinal, environmental, financial, communication, transportation, employment and other barriers to person with disabilities barriers to employment.
  • Maintain Mandt and CPR certification including physical skills.
  • Drive to organization and public facilities/locations to conduct job responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
