Direct Support Professional DSP Caregiver
About The Position
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are caregivers who assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role involves supporting residents in their daily needs, such as cooking, cleaning, transportation, medication assistance, and bathing. DSPs also engage with residents in recreational and community activities like bowling, movies, church, and volunteer events. The primary goal is to foster independence and well-being for the residents, acting as companions and caregivers within the community. Graceworks Enhanced Living utilizes the Gentle Teaching approach to create an environment of engagement and happiness.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Ohio Driver's License with less than 6 points.
- Willingness to drive company vans to transport individuals.
- Must pass a drug screen including Marijuana (holding a medical card does not provide exemption).
