About The Position

We’re seeking a caring, energetic professional to provide person-centered support that truly makes a difference. Join our mission-driven team at Brown Family Housing! This role involves assisting with daily living tasks, meal prep, and implementing personalized support plans (ISPs). The client schedule is estimated at 9 to 23 hours a week, with flexibility highly valued. Additional doctor, dental, or specialist appointments may occasionally arise outside of these exact hours. Your role as a DSP falls under the "Personal Attendant" classification of CA Wage Order 15, meaning your primary focus is hands-on support, supervision, and care. Any general housekeeping or non-attendant duties are strictly capped and will never exceed 20% of your total weekly hours.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Valid CA Driver’s License with auto insurance
CPR/First Aid certification
Ability to pass a Live Scan/TB test
Bilingual Spanish (Required)
Highly comfortable with technology, specifically navigating digital patient portals like the MyChart app/website.
Independent problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate needs and take initiative.
Flexibility to accommodate unexpected changes in schedule.

Nice To Haves

Experience with health portals like AltaMed.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily living tasks, meal prep, and implementing personalized support plans (ISPs).
Monitor client and engage with client.
Accompany client to dialysis appointments and communicate proactively with medical staff.
Accompany client to community engagement activities.
Accompany client to doctor, dental, or specialist appointments.
Navigate digital patient portals like the MyChart app/website to manage and coordinate care effectively.
Process urgent paperwork on tight deadlines, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and proactive initiative.
