About The Position

Empowered Services is seeking a dependable and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide morning support for an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in the Portland area. This part-time role focuses on establishing consistent routines, fostering independence, and building positive relationships. The individual being supported thrives on consistency, encouragement, and patient guidance, enjoying community outings like shopping and errands. They benefit from a provider who can help maintain a structured morning routine. This position is ideal for someone who values relationship-based care and wishes to make a meaningful difference through steady, one-on-one support.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Current auto insurance that meets state requirements
• Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying)
• Comfortable supporting personal care needs

Nice To Haves

• Experience in caregiving, healthcare, or direct support roles
• Experience supporting individuals with I/DD
• CPR and First Aid certification

Responsibilities

• Support daily living routines and personal care needs
• Encourage independence and healthy habits
• Assist with community outings, errands, and activities
• Provide calm, respectful, and reliable support
• Help maintain a safe and structured environment
• Communicate important updates with the support team as needed
