About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for assisting individuals, while following established treatment plans. QSAC’s Residential program emphasizes the importance of promoting independence through the development of daily living/social skills and integration into the community through recreational outings. The DSP will abide by the Direct Support Professional Code of Ethics at all times. This role involves ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of individuals, safeguarding their confidentiality, and assisting them in developing and maintaining relationships. The position promotes and protects the health, safety, and emotional well-being of individuals, committing to person-centered supports and honoring their personality, preferences, culture, and strengths. The DSP will work in partnership with others to support individuals in leading self-directed lives, implementing and adhering to established treatment plans, and communicating effectively. Transportation of individuals in agency vehicles may be required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities highly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record is required

  • Ability to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights and 20 lb items

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management
