About The Position
Merakey is seeking mission-driven, compassionate, and reliable individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals in Coraopolis, PA. This role is ideal for experienced caregivers or those looking to start a meaningful career in human services. No experience is required as paid training is provided. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will work alongside a passionate team to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will help them build independence, develop social and communication skills, and navigate daily living activities such as personal care, housekeeping, and community engagement. Your role will involve making memories through activities like trips to the park and sensory gardens, and assisting individuals in achieving their personal goals. You will serve as a mentor, coach, and advocate.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Nice To Haves
- Related experience is helpful.
- A verifiable high school diploma or GED is preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation
- Support life skills development, including household tasks and social skills
- Provide community support, transportation
- Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support (as trained)
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs
