Direct Support Professional w/ TBI Experience

BAYADA Home Health Care is currently seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) with TBI Experience to join the team in Cherryville, NC. BAYADA’s Direct Support Professionals DSPs work one-on-one in home and community settings as a companion and mentor for individuals with intellectual or developmental disability to help them reach their full potential. Shifts available: M- F 8am - 4pm (potential for overtime). Shifts subject to change based on client needs.
Requirements
- One year experience working with intellectual and development disabilities
- Significant experience working with individuals who have Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), including strong understanding of related behaviors and support strategies
- High school diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance (dressing, grooming)
- Accompany clients on errands and appointments
- Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities
- Assist with everyday tasks, such as meal preparation
- Participate in community integration activities
- Help lift and reposition clients.
