About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to support an adult male with special needs in both his home and the community. This position provides 1:1 In-Home support and 2:1 support while in community, to a young adult with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will be patient, dependable, and confident supporting individuals with complex behavioral needs while helping promote independence, community involvement, and meaningful daily experiences.
Requirements
- Experience supporting individuals with special needs is required.
- Experience responding to self-injurious behaviors and implementing support strategies is required.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional during challenging situations.
- Must be comfortable performing approved behavioral intervention holds when necessary and appropriately trained.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Genuinely enjoys working with adults with disabilities.
- Values person-centered supports.
- Committed to helping an individual live a fulfilling and meaningful life at home and in the community.

- Experience working with non-verbal individuals is highly preferred.
