Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are needed to join the team at Merakey's program in Richmond, VA. This role involves creating long-term impacts on individuals' lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. DSPs will foster pride in individuals by teaching daily living activities such as housekeeping and laundry. The work is performed under the supervision of the House Manager, with responsibilities including assisting with daily and personal activities to enhance independence. Merakey is a leading developmental, behavioral health, and education non-profit provider with a fifty-year history, offering integrated services across the country. Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to operate a vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- 1+ year experience in a home health aide setting or school setting working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
