They also support clients during meals, ensuring the utilization of family-style dining, and assist with housekeeping responsibilities such as clothing care, house cleaning, and yard care. The role involves helping clients prepare meals and nutritional supplements, and administering prescribed medication accurately. Professionals in this role implement and follow established behavior programs, collect data, and adhere to safety procedures. They participate in active treatment, including training objective plans and recording data, and contribute to the interdisciplinary team by communicating client information to supervisory staff. Additionally, the position requires transporting and monitoring clients in company vehicles for community outings, school, and day program activities. Direct Support Professionals are also expected to attend scheduled staff development classes and successfully complete required competency testing.
