About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join their team at their program in Bala Cynwyd, PA. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to create long-term impacts on consumers' lives and enjoy encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. Responsibilities include working in various settings, following Individual Support Plans, encouraging social and communication skills, assisting with daily hygiene and personal care, and teaching daily living activities like housekeeping and laundry to enhance independence.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma/G.E.D. preferred
• Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals.
• Working in a variety of settings to make memories with individuals.
• Following the Individual Support Plan.
• Working on social and communication skills.
• Enhancing independence by assisting with daily hygiene and personal care.
• Teaching individuals to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry.
