About The Position

We are seeking individuals who will enjoy and successfully work independently and together in a supportive team environment in a variety of locations in our Angus location, supporting Individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in a wide range of living situations. The Direct Support Professional provides supervision and support as needed to people with developmental disabilities in all aspects of daily living including personal care, domestic skills, home maintenance, money management, use of community businesses and resources, recreation, medical, medications and safety. Due to the nature of the work, work schedules may include a combination of days, afternoons, weekends and overnight asleep/awake shifts and are based on the needs of the persons supported.

Requirements

DSW College Diploma or equivalent diploma or degree in social sciences. Minimum two-year college program; and/or Curative Education, PSW and Social Therapy diploma or equivalent Camphill seminar and experience.
Must be successfully trained in and possess current certifications in First Aid, CPR, NVCI, and Medication Administration.
Three (3) years’ experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.
Hold a Valid Ontario G Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract and have access to a reliable vehicle with sufficient insurance.
Able to provide a current (within 6 months) satisfactory Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
