About The Position

Our Direct Support Professionals provide daily support to individuals with developmental disabilities within the home setting. Working with a team, DSPs assist with daily living skills, personalized goals, arts and crafts, games, sensory activities, and accompany on outings in the community. Starting pay is $19.25 an hour for part time and full-time positions. Requirements
- A valid NYS driver's license with an acceptable driving record, per agency policy, and reliable transportation to and from work is required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The physical ability to transfer and lift people with mobility restraints.
- The drive to help others with personal goals and work in a team environment.
- The ability to efficiently use a computer.
Responsibilities
- Provides daily care to the people we support with developmental, intellectual and/or physical disabilities.
- Assists and encourages the people we support to care for immediate personal needs.
- Assists with planning daily activities and participates in the activities in small groups.
- Assists in varies community inclusion opportunities such as social events, volunteering, and to providing ways to work on skill building.
- Documents all program data accurately and timely.
- Provide transportation as needed with agency vehicles.
- Use various software platforms for specific job functions.
- Meal preparation.
