Direct Support Professional (Evenings) - Part-Time
About The Position

This part-time evening position focuses on assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with daily routines, personal care, and community or program preparation in a respectful, person-centered manner. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides compassionate, hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them live safe, meaningful, and independent lives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be an eligible driver for RRHSF (at least 25 years old, valid driver's license, & driven for 5+ years) and have a reliable, insured vehicle
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and complete ongoing training requirements.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a compassionate, respectful attitude.
- Must also have every other weekend availability.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to follow care plans and agency policies.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with evening routines including hygiene, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation in their homes.
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice in all activities.
- Provide transportation from day programs or community activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Support skill development, communication, and positive social interactions.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Supervisors, Program Coordinators, families, and team members.
