About The Position
ARISE is looking for a Direct Support Professional to provide Respite in the West Hill area. The individual is a very happy, easy-going, active and kind-hearted teen with a moderate intellectual disability. Service can take place in both the home and in the community. She enjoys outings, to places like Onondaga park, restaurants, visiting the YMCA, swimming, playing with Slime and cutting paper. She also enjoys watching videos on her iPad or TV. The family is interested in trying new experiences with her and asks for a strong staff that will be willing to discover and try new places to explore with her.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred
- Experience is preferred
- Being responsible and very hands on DSP
- Being a back up for Mondays and Tuesdays would also be a huge plus
Responsibilities
- Provide Respite care

- Accompany the individual on outings to parks, restaurants, and the YMCA
