About The Position

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide meaningful support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings throughout Ocean County. In this role, you will help individuals develop life skills, participate in their communities, and enjoy greater independence while receiving the support they need to thrive. As a valued member of our Residential Services team, you'll work in a collaborative environment where professional growth, teamwork, and person-centered care are at the heart of everything we do.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing with no more than five (5) points.
  • Demonstrated employment stability preferred, including at least one year with a previous employer.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is welcomed but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to individuals living in residential group homes, supervised apartments, and supported living programs.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, medication support, personal care, household tasks, and transportation needs.
  • Encourage individuals to participate in community activities, recreational opportunities, and social experiences that promote independence and inclusion.
  • Support individuals in achieving personal goals identified through individualized service plans.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment that promotes dignity and personal choice.
  • Complete required electronic documentation, daily notes, and program records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to ensure quality services and consistent support.
  • Follow agency policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with program requirements.
