As a Group Home DSP, you’ll spend your days helping create a meaningful day for the individual you are partnered with, helping them become more independent and accomplish their goals, and assisting with daily living tasks such as using the restroom, showering, eating, etc. You will also support social, recreation and community engagement, celebrate small and big wins, and help them grow in life skills. You will administer medications as trained and authorized, build trust and a relationship together and do life alongside them, do arts, crafts and creative things together, help grocery shop and attend appointments, maintain a clean, safe and respectful home environment, engage in exercise and going outside, and respond appropriately to behavioral or medical needs. A Group Home DSP provides direct support, instruction, and assistance to persons with disabilities (I/DD) living in the community.
