Home and Community Based Allentown Direct Support Professional
About The Position
We are hiring reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to support a young adult with autism who is nonspeaking. This role focuses on community participation, daily routines, and building a consistent, supportive relationships. This is not a typical group home and not rotating shift coverage. You will be part of a small, stable team supporting one individual. The individual enjoys being active in the community and does best with consistent staff, predictable routines, and calm communication. We are building a long-term team of dependable staff who value meaningful work.
Requirements
- Reliable and consistent attendance
- Calm, patient, and emotionally steady approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfort supporting community activities and outings
- Ability to follow structure and routines
- Background clearances required
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support in community and home settings
- Assist with daily routines and activities
- Support communication using alternative communication methods
- Encourage community participation and engagement
- Complete required service documentation
