About The Position

Direct Support Professional (DSP) employees work with people who experience developmental disabilities as they live in their homes and communities. This position assists people in their daily life, working with them and their connections to ensure that they can live fully in the community. Direct Support Professionals recognize people's rights to direct their life, understanding that each person has unique gifts and needs, and they support people to learn skills for their own growth and development.

Requirements

SSW, Recreational therapist, DSW or CYW Diploma
Experience with Behaviour support plans. (BSP)
Current/Valid G license and able to drive.
Computer Skills: Windows, Word, Excel, Email, etc.
High behaviour supports experience
Candidates are expected to maintain professionalism
Supports to people who have a dual diagnosis
Supports to people who experience Autism
Current Safe Management
Current First Aid/CPR
Able to lift 35 lbs
Able to perform restraints
Able to perform CPR
Able to be flexible in a rapidly changing environment
Full G License required

Responsibilities

Assist people in their daily life.
Work with people and their connections to ensure they can live fully in the community.
Support people to learn skills for their own growth and development.
Work across multiple sites all over the Greater Sudbury Area.
Build rapport and have a professional working relationship with the police, fire support, EMS and hospitals.
