Requirements
- Must be 20 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass state and federal criminal background checks
- Ability to pass drug screening
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical
- Ability to pass PPD screening
- Willingness to complete all required orientation and training
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to support individuals’ personal care, daily routines, and community participation
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities
- Experience in human services, residential programs, caregiving, direct care, or related fields
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed
Responsibilities
- Assisting and teaching skills related to daily living activities, including cooking, housekeeping, hygiene, and personal care
- Assisting and teaching skills related to health and wellness, including medication support and healthy living routines
- Assisting and teaching skills related to community involvement, including shopping, recreation, transportation, and appointments
- Assisting and teaching skills related to social development, including communication, coping skills, relationship building, and friendships
- Assisting and teaching skills related to budgeting and money management
- Promoting independence, dignity, personal choice, and self-advocacy
- Supporting individuals in building confidence, life skills, and autonomy
- Ensuring the safety, well-being, and supervision of individuals served
- Communicating effectively with supervisors, coworkers, individuals served, and support team members
- Completing required documentation accurately and timely
- Following all program, agency, and regulatory requirements
- Participating in required orientation, training, and staff meetings
- Performing other duties as assigned to support individuals and program operations
