Requirements

  • Must be 20 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass state and federal criminal background checks
  • Ability to pass drug screening
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical
  • Ability to pass PPD screening
  • Willingness to complete all required orientation and training
  • Ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals with disabilities
  • Ability to support individuals’ personal care, daily routines, and community participation

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities
  • Experience in human services, residential programs, caregiving, direct care, or related fields
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed

Responsibilities

  • Assisting and teaching skills related to daily living activities, including cooking, housekeeping, hygiene, and personal care
  • Assisting and teaching skills related to health and wellness, including medication support and healthy living routines
  • Assisting and teaching skills related to community involvement, including shopping, recreation, transportation, and appointments
  • Assisting and teaching skills related to social development, including communication, coping skills, relationship building, and friendships
  • Assisting and teaching skills related to budgeting and money management
  • Promoting independence, dignity, personal choice, and self-advocacy
  • Supporting individuals in building confidence, life skills, and autonomy
  • Ensuring the safety, well-being, and supervision of individuals served
  • Communicating effectively with supervisors, coworkers, individuals served, and support team members
  • Completing required documentation accurately and timely
  • Following all program, agency, and regulatory requirements
  • Participating in required orientation, training, and staff meetings
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support individuals and program operations
