About The Position

Autism Delaware is seeking compassionate, dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with autism as they achieve their goals and thrive in their communities. This role involves building positive relationships, advocating for community integration, and assisting individuals in achieving independence. The DSP will serve as a mentor and role model, following individualized Person-Centered Plans, and supporting individuals with their employment, social, and recreational activities. Responsibilities also include monitoring progress, documenting behaviors, reporting concerns, collaborating with a team of professionals, and maintaining safety and compliance with State and Autism Delaware regulations.

Requirements

18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and up-to-date auto insurance.
Ability to pass background checks, drug screenings, and driving record reviews.
Patience, flexibility, and a desire to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical ability to walk, stand, and lift.
