About The Position
A 22-year-old male in the Camillus area is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him with his internship at SU, money management, social and safety skills. He spends most of his time at SU for his Inclusive-U program. But during the summer, He enjoys being active with swimming, running, and his baseball team; Syracuse Challengers. He also likes to participate in Unified bowling and cross country. The ideal candidate is creative, engaging, patient, active and willing to travel to Syracuse University and other places. The ideal candidate should be able to assist the individual to keep focus on tasks at hand. This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services. at the agency.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community
- Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
- New York State Driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Proof of auto insurance
- Acceptable driving record
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community
- Effective communication and organizational skills required
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy
Nice To Haves
- No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred
