About The Position
Merakey is seeking Caregivers / Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team at their program in Chico, CA. This role involves providing personal care and support to clients with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The position aims to enhance the health, safety, dignity, and contentment of consumers by assisting and training them in personal care, communication, and social skill development. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) preferred, especially personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing.
- Prior experience in a caregiving, personal care assistant, or home health aide role is a PLUS!
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to clients who live in the home.
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, and companionship.
- Help with ambulation, transferring, and range of motion exercises.
- Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways.
- Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading, and hobbies.
- Interact and support individuals with developmental disabilities in various settings including community, family, or individual homes and generic community settings.
- Assist and train individuals in the areas of personal care, communication, and social skill development.
