As a DSP in a staffed residence, you provide the essential support that allows individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to thrive in a home of their own. Working in a staffed residence means you are the heartbeat of the home. You will support participants in their daily routines, helping them maintain their independence while ensuring a safe, supportive, and joyful environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must pass background checks and drug screening.
- Valid Driver’s License and active auto insurance.
- Excellent communication, a positive attitude, and a heart for service.
Responsibilities
- Support participants with ADLs, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and light housekeeping to keep the home running smoothly.
- Administer prescribed medications accurately and prioritize the health and welfare of every resident.
- Actively engage with participants to help them achieve their personal goals and skill-building milestones.
- Plan activities, go out—most importantly—have fun with the residents!
- Complete daily progress notes and documentation with accuracy and care.
