About The Position
Hands of Heartland is looking for compassionate and caring individuals to work with the people we support as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). We are hiring for multiple DSP positions in Fremont, NE! In general you will work directly with people with developmental disabilities assisting and supporting them with day to day living activities. There are multiple DSP positions available: Day Center DSP, Independent Living Support DSP, and Intermittent Services DSP.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and car insurance.
- Must be able to pass all background checks.
Nice To Haves
- Experience not required- we will train you!
- CNA license (pay more for experience and if you have a CNA license)
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, mobility, and meal preparation, based on the individual’s level of need.
- Support the individual in developing and maintaining skills, which could include money management, household chores, self-advocacy, and communication. Based on individual's needs, goals, and support plan.
- Implement goals and objectives from the individual’s person-centered support plan and document progress as required.
- Monitor and promote the individual’s health and well-being while following safety protocols. Ensure individuals are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
- Encourage social interaction and community inclusion through meaningful activities and relationship building.
- Transport individuals in a motor vehicle.
